<p>Two weeks ago, <a href="http://www.crunchgear.com/2008/10/08/augmented-reality-the-tuttuki-bako-box-needs-your-finger-to-play-with-virtual-characters/">I blogged about Bandai Japan&#8217;s Tuttuki Bako augmented reality-ish toy box</a>, which is due out in Nippon on November 15 (price: $30). Bandai has set up a <a href="http://www.asovision.com/tuttuki/">dedicated web site for the product in the meantime</a>. The site is Japanese only but quite easy to understand.</p>
<p>In addition to the strange (but official) video above, a few other clips cropped up in the last 24 hours, visualizing Tuttuki Bako&#8217;s &#8220;gameplay&#8221;.</p>
<p><span id="more-49843"></span></p>
<p>This video shows the slimeball:<br />
<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="425" height="344" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/HeTAXDPjSvQ&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="344" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/HeTAXDPjSvQ&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></p>
<p>This clip shows how you can annoy the girl in the box:<br />
<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="425" height="344" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/9FuWeWnenig&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="344" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/9FuWeWnenig&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></p>
<p>Bandai itself has made two additional videos. <a href="http://www.asovision.com/tuttuki/mov03.html">This clip</a> shows how Bandai thinks the Tuttuki Bako will be used by foreigners, while <a href="http://www.asovision.com/tuttuki/mov02.html">this one</a> shows how men in general will react to the toy.</p>

<p><span id="more-46921"></span></p>
<p>The so-called <em>Tuttuki Bako</em>, Tuttuki Box, features a display that shows a digital replica of your finger once you put it into the hole in the right side of the device and start moving. Users can then play with a panda bear or a small figure, explore a &#8220;virtual&#8221; lake and touch a girl&#8217;s face or a slime ball.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.crunchgear.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/tuttuki_bako2.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-46927 aligncenter" title="tuttuki_bako2" src="http://www.crunchgear.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/tuttuki_bako2.jpg" alt="" width="555" height="161" /></a></p>
<p>The battery-powered box, which also doubles as a clock, is sized at just 105×120×87mm. Bandai will sell it for $30 but hasn&#8217;t said yet whether it will ever be available outside Japan as well.</p>
