Have you updated your Wii to version 4.2 yet? Because if you have, and you’re now having problems with your system, Nintendo will fix it for free.

No time for pleasantries here, as this is probably going to sell out quickly. First, Dell is selling the Wii for $175 with free next-day shipping. Second, if you search for Dell through Bing.com and use Bing’s cash back program, you can get 15% of your purchase back. People over on FatWallet are reporting getting the deal down to around $150 or so, although your mileage may vary depending on your state’s sales tax.
Use this link for Bing and click on the top light blue banner (it says Dell.com – Official Site). Good luck!
The Nintendo Wii is finally $199. We knew the price cut was coming and are glad it’s here. But now that the MSRP is only $199, online retailers and brick and mortar stores have the opportunity to sweeten the deal. We’ve done some searching and have the best deals after the jump.
In Japan, Nintendo has been experimenting with offering content other than just games for quite a while now. Japanese DS owners have been able to download anime movies and digital manga for over a year. And in May this year, Nintendo teamed up with the world’s biggest ad agency, Tokyo-based Dentsu, to introduce a video distribution service for the Wii. Needless to say, this service is Japan-only, too. But that will change soon.
Questing in Kalimdor, I received word that, yes, the Wii has dropped in price to $199. After I logged out, I got to thinking: how long can this last? Like, the Wii (and the PS3) came out three years ago, and the Xbox 360 came out four years ago. Given how quickly consumer electronics evolve, how long we can expect to play these systems?
I know that you will probably wanna snag Wii Sports Resort on September 27 when the Wii drops to $199, but don’t. If you can wait until October 12 to get your MotionPlus on, you will be so very happy.

Resident Evil (Biohazard in Japan) – The Darkside Chronicles is an on-rails shooter that comes out in Nippon for the Wii on January 14. Instead of torturing you with the crappy video I took at the Capcom booth at the Tokyo Game Show, I give you the official trailer the fine people over at the Famitsu secured. It contains cut scenes, gameplay sequences and a few spoilers – you’ve been warned.
The Wii is getting cut down to $199 this Sunday. We know that. But European gamers might not be that lucky. GamesIndustry.biz is reporting that instead of getting a price cut, Nintendo will bundle MotionPlus along with Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort and sell it for the same price. Actually, that’s not that bad as MotionPlus really does improve the gaming experience and every Wii should have it. But none of this is official just yet. It’s just another one of those wild Internet rumors.
We’ve seen upcoming circulars showing the Wii will soon be $199 at Toys R Us, Walmart, Target and Best Buy, but now there is a Best Buy internal memo stating that on this coming Sunday, the 27th, the Wii will be $199. Praise jebus!
It’s been about three years since the Nintendo Wii was first released here in the good ol’ USA. Its number one claim to fame, motion control, sure isn’t unique anymore, what with Project Natal for the Xbox 360, and whatever Sony’s improved motion control thing is called coming out fairly soon. But are these motion control deals mere gimmicks (I think so, just based on how I play game; the public may well think differently), or something more? “Gimmicks!” yelled Square Enix’s Yoichi Wada.
There’s been some chatter about this over the last week, but I wanted to wait until something a little more solid came up. After all, how many times have price drops been reported for the other consoles that turned out to be bogus? But it appears that Nintendo itself is now confirming the price drop (not just retailers), so you can probably expect a $200 Wii starting September 27th.
What do we have here? A Target ad similar to the Toys R Us ad that says the Wii is getting a $50 price drop? Kotaku notes that this ad is suppose to circulate the week of September 27, which is the same time as the Toys R Us one. That’s only a week and a half away and these brick and mortar stores likely already have the print ads sitting in a warehouse within easy reach of workers with camera phones. So let’s just go ahead and call this real, eh? The Wii will soon be $199.

It’s about damn time the Wii gets a price cut. The system has been out for almost three years now and has been the same price. But that’s about to change in two weeks if this Toys R Us ad is correct which says it’s going down to $199.
Nintendo has officially announced Wii Fit Plus, a somewhat incremental upgrade to its wildly-popular Wii Fit exercise program. The price of the Wii Fit bundle, which will include the new Wii Fit Plus along with the Balance Board apparatus, will remain at $99 while the standalone version of the game will cost $19.99. It’s set to release here in the US on October 4th.
Nintendo! What are you doing? Don’t get us wrong, it’s great that you’re shipping the black Wii remote to North America sometime this month. Our white ones are getting kind of dingy after a couple years of drunk Wii bowling. But what do we have to do to get the black Wii?
Metroid was probably my most favorite game in the mid to late 90s for the NES and today, Nintendo released Metroid Prime: Trilogy for the Wii. Announced back at E3 in June, Metroid 3: Corruption is packed together with Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2 Echoes all of which is encased a shiny blue metal case. M3 brings updated motion controls and widescreen (16:9) to the Wii. It’s available now for $50.
